Jim Moffeit, City Administrator
Mr. Moffeit was born and raised in a rural area between Brownsboro and Chandler. After graduating from Brownsboro High School Jim served in the United States Navy on active duty for over four years most of the time aboard aircraft carriers off the coast of Vietnam from 1962 until 1966. After receiving an honorable discharge he used his GI bill to attend Henderson County Junior College known now as Trinity Valley Community College. He also attended East Texas State University at Commerce. He was then employed for a number of years with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Dunlop Tire and Rubber Company as the territory and area manager. Jim and his brother Dan owned and operated Wheeler Tire Company in east Texas for almost twenty years. He went on from there to work for Chateau Communities a real estate trust company headquartered in Denver, Colorado as their project manager for ten years before he retired. When Jim accepted the City Administrator position in 2005 he saw the opportunity to improve the quality of life in the city he has called home for the past twenty years.
Jim is married to Sharon a life long resident of the Chandler area. She has been employed as a pharmacy tech by Copeland’s Chandler Drug since 1966. Jim and Sharon have 4 children and 4 grand children. The Moffeit’s are avid RV’ers and travel as often as a busy work schedule will allow.
