Chandler Memorial Cemetery Association is a 501 C 13 Non-Profit governed by an elected board. The association meets the first Sunday of June each year at the Chandler Community Center. Located on Old Tyler Road, the cemetery is open dawn to dusk. The cemetery is recorded as a Historic Texas Cemetery and dates to 1880 when the town was founded. Mr. Chandler donated land for the original part of the cemetery to be used by local residents. The newer part was donated by the Coleman family.
Gravesites are $1500 each and Columbarium Niches are $1000. A $250 gate fee is charged at internment. Chandler Memorial Funeral Home (903-849-6146) has the contract for uncovering gravesites and Martus Stone-Starr Memorial (903-939-3338) do the engraving for the Columbarium niches. The Cemetery Association sponsors a Memorial Day Ceremony on the last Monday in May starting at 9:00 AM.
