I was born in Tyler, TX and graduated from Palestine High School so I grew up in East Texas. In 1990, I moved to the Dallas area for work but I always wanted to return home. My husband says I still have sand between my toes! I love East Texas and I am glad to be back and working for the City of Chandler as City Secretary.
It was my privilege to previously serve the City of Italy as City Secretary. I have served in municipal government since 2008 and I have had the opportunity of experiencing municipal government in action in many different duties including elections, emergency operations acquiring grants and working closely with the Mayor, City Council and City Administrator to provide them with a transparent view of the City.
In January of 2013, I obtained my certification as a Texas Registered Municipal Clerk. I am also an active member of the state and local chapter of the Texas Municipal Clerks Association. I have attended TMCA's Election Law Seminars since 2009. These seminars are great resources for legislation updates and a good refresher of state law.
Chandler is a beautiful city and is set in a great location for many types of businesses. I feel Chandler has the potential for some serious growth but still possesses that small-town feel that many people are looking for. I feel the Mayor, Council and City Administrator have a realistic plan for growth that will benefit every citizen.
My family and Church are very important to me. I have been blessed with four beautiful daughters who have all recently graduated high school We attend church regularly, enjoy working with you and participate in many outdoor activities such as kayaking, fishing and hiking.
