How do I get a library card?: Applicants for a library card must present a valid picture ID (DL or Texas ID) with a Chandler/Brownsboro area address and a utility bill with the same address. Young adults living at home can use their parent's utility bill.

1. Do you accept donations?: Yes, but we reserve the right to place books we cannot use on the sale table. Books should be copyrighted within the last five years.

2. How can I volunteer?: Visit the library to submit an application. Volunteers will be trained and then placed as needed. Call (903)849-4122 if you have any questions.

4. I just got a new e-reader. Does the library have e-books?: The library does not have e-books other than those available through TexShare.

5. Does the library offer free wifi?: Yes! The library now offers free wifi all day, everyday, 24/7. No password is required and a table is set up on the porch of the library to use after hours.

6. Do I need a library card to use the computers?: No. If you are under 16, you will need to have a parent accompany you.

7. How much are late fees?: Late fees are 10c per day for a book and $1.00 per day for a video.

8. How do I request materials from area libraries?: Items from other libraries can be requested through TexShare. The library is in the process of establishing connections for inter-library loan through TexShare.

9. What is a TexShare card? Can I get one?: The TexShare card allows you to have direct access to library materials that aren't available at your local public library. When you present your TexShare card at participating libraries, you will receive borrowing privileges free of charge.
Chandler Public Library cardholders are eligible for TexShare cards if they have been a member of the library for at least 6 months and their account is in good standing. TexShare cards will not be issued to patrons under the age of 18. For more information, visit TexShare Program.

10. Does the library have tax forms?: Yes. Many common tax forms are available at the library free of charge. If you need a form that we do not carry, we will be happy to print a copy for you from the IRS website.
